She is a professor and head of the pediatric, strabismus, and ocular oncology services at the University of Ilorin and its Teaching Hospital, Nigeria. She graduated as a medical doctor from the University of Lagos (1991) and became board certified in Ophthalmology through the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCOph) and the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in 2001. She completed further specialized training in Pediatric Ophthalmology in India and Ophthalmic Oncology in Egypt, alongside various other institutions in the USA and India. Dúpé has held numerous leadership roles at the University of Ilorin, including Head of Department, Deputy Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee, and Director of Computer Services & IT (2020-2023). She contributed to the university’s transition to e-learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, she is a Regional Advisor for the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
